Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Interactive Bible Studio for using the site and its studies — written to be plain and fair.

1. Agreement to these terms

Welcome to Interactive Bible Studio. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Interactive Bible Studio (“we,” “us,” “our”), operated by an individual, and govern your use of interactivebiblestudio.com and the studies and features we offer (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

2. Who may use the Service

The Service is written for a general audience, and families are welcome to use it together. To create an account, join the waitlist, or make a purchase, you must be 18 or older, or a parent or guardian acting on behalf of your family. If you set up the Service for your family, you are responsible for supervising children’s use and for any activity under your account. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own accounts or provide us their personal information directly.

3. Your account

Some features require an account. When you create one, you agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login credentials secure, and to be responsible for activity that happens under your account. Please tell us promptly (at [email protected]) if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You may close your account at any time.

4. The studies, and how you may use them

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the studies for your own personal, devotional, and educational use, and to use them with your own family or small group.

You agree not to: resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publicly post the study content; copy or scrape it in bulk; share your account or purchased access to let others avoid paying; remove copyright or attribution notices; or use the Service in any unlawful way or to harm, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its users. Reasonable personal use — reading aloud to your family, discussing a lesson with a friend, quoting a short portion with attribution — is welcome and encouraged.

5. Free and paid studies; payments

Some studies are offered free of charge. Others may require a one-time purchase or a subscription — this will always be made clear before you pay.

• Payment processing. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. By purchasing, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your chosen payment method. We don’t receive or store your full card details.
• What you get. A one-time purchase grants you ongoing personal access to that study under the license in Section 4. A subscription grants access to the included studies for as long as the subscription is active.
• Subscriptions. A subscription renews automatically for successive periods until you cancel. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period; you’ll keep access until then. We don’t provide partial-period refunds for cancellations unless required by law or stated in Section 6.
• Price changes. We may change prices or introduce new paid studies. For existing subscribers, we’ll give reasonable advance notice of any price change, and it will take effect on your next billing period; you’re free to cancel before then.
• Taxes. Prices may not include applicable taxes, which will be added where required.

6. Refunds

We want the Service to be a blessing, not a source of frustration. If you’re not satisfied with a paid study, contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of your purchase, and we’ll make it right — including a refund where appropriate. Except as stated here or required by law, payments are otherwise non-refundable.

7. Donations

You may choose to support the ministry with a donation. Donations are voluntary gifts and are generally non-refundable.

Interactive Bible Studio operates as an individual and is not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Accordingly, donations are not tax-deductible, and we do not represent them as such. Gifts sustain this work — the writing, recording, and building of studies — and help keep 1 John free for everyone. Please consult your own tax advisor about your situation.

8. Your reflections and other content

The reflections and notes you write are yours. You keep all rights to them. To operate the Service — to save your reflections and show them back to you, and to sync them across your devices if you have an account — you grant us a limited license to store and display that content to you. We treat your reflections as private, as described in our Privacy Policy, and we don’t use them to train models, sell them, or share them for advertising. You’re responsible for what you write, and you agree not to submit content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else’s rights.

9. Scripture and intellectual property

Scripture quotations within the studies are taken from the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain. All other content in the Service — including the study commentary, questions, structure, written material, audio, design, the “Interactive Bible Studio” name, and our logo — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Except for the limited license in Section 4, these Terms don’t grant you any right to our content or marks.

10. The Service is offered “as is”

We provide the Service with care, but “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t promise the Service will always be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

The studies are offered for devotional and educational purposes. They are not a substitute for professional pastoral counseling, medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice, and nothing in the Service creates any such professional relationship. If you are in crisis or need help, please reach out to a qualified professional or a trusted person in your life.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Interactive Bible Studio and the people who serve it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the extent we are found liable despite the above, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $100. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service or close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially violate these Terms (for example, by misusing or redistributing paid content, or attempting to compromise the Service), or as needed to comply with law or protect the Service and its users. If we end your access to a paid study without cause, we’ll refund any amount fairly attributable to the access you lose.

13. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may update, add to, or discontinue parts of the Service. We may also update these Terms; when we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree to a change, please stop using the Service.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing anything formal, please contact us first at [email protected] — most concerns can be resolved quickly and kindly. Any dispute that can’t be resolved that way will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you and we consent to that venue.
